“Bohemian Rhapsody” still continues to captivate listeners and musicians everywhere. Check out this beautiful rendition bass solo of the “Bohemian Rhapsody” by YouTuber Zander Zon.
Zander Zon is a bass player that plays by ear. A quite complicated task since the song has many notes. “Bohemian Rhapsody” is six minutes long and has several segments: the intro, ballad, guitar solo, opera, rock, and finally, the outro. Not to mention there were numerous instruments used in the song.
For a musician who plays by ear, learning all the notes will certainly pose a challenge. Zander definitely persevered in pick up all the notes and dedicated his time to learn it all from start to finish. According to the YouTuber, it was a difficult piece to compose and learn. Freddie definitely knew how to make one epic song so complicated and he certainly knew how to push creative boundaries. With only his bass guitar, Zander said it certainly challenged creativity.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a unique piece of opera rock, even more so as composing it as a bass solo. But this guy nails it. Zander watched countless piano tutorials to arrange the notes on this bass. He spent hours and hours arranging the notes and practicing the arrangement. After months of composing and hours of practice, he got it! A delightful piece to behold with smooth transitions, impeccable rhythm, and those well-timed pizzicatos.
John Deacon would be so proud.
